Ceol-na-mara (music of the sea) is a stunningly situated cedar chalet at Aultgrishan, about 9 miles from Gairloch on the road to Melvaig and Rua Reidh lighthouse. It enjoys uninterrupted views and magnificent sunsets over the sea to the Isle of Skye and the Western Isles. The chalet has direct beach access and use of a slipway. Adjacent to the chalet is the Melvaig Inn, a cosy local bar and restaurant. It has a warm friendly atmosphere, with open fires, 60s jukebox and full size pool table and dart board. What could be better than dining and wining every night and not having to drive.
The chalet is located on a shore-side croft amidst spectacular coastal scenery. The coast is a haven for seabirds and marine wildlife – you may see sea eagles, seals, otters, dolphins and whales. From the chalet it is possible to walk to Rua Reidh lighthouse (approx 4 miles) where you can saunter along the cliffs or walk down to the beautiful sandy beach at Camus Mor.
Gairloch is within easy reach and offers a variety of shops, restaurants, golf, pony trekking, cycle hire and boat trips, and the area has many walks and sandy beaches to enjoy.
This single storey cedar chalet has sea views from all rooms. The lounge has Freesat TV, CD player and radio. Wireless broadand is also available. The kitchen and dining area is fully equipped with an electric cooker, fridge, washer/dryer, dishwasher and microwave. There are two bedrooms, one double and the other with twin beds. Both have a wash hand basin and a colour TV. A shower room, with electric shower, WC and wash basin completes the accommodation. A cot is available. There is a level garden, which is shared with the owners house next door, which adjoins the chalet, and ample parking.
