Cruachan
Location: Strath, Gairloch
Sleeps: 2 | Sorry No Pets | Non Smoking | Map
The accommodation is half of a modern house situated on a hillside overlooking the sea with the Torridon mountains in the background. The house is on a cul-de-sac running up to open moorland and is 200 metres from the main road. A few metres up the hill from the house, the Isle of Skye comes into view and from Gairloch beach the Western Isles are clearly visible on a good day.
Gairloch is ideally situated to do some touring. The Isle of Skye, Loch Ness, Ullapool and the North Coast are all within a day’s drive. In Gairloch itself, you will be spoilt for choice. Apart from some of the most magnificent mountain ranges in the country, there is excellent fishing, freshwater and sea, sailing, walking and climbing and golf. For the less energetic there are short charming walks to be enjoyed locally, and the famous Inverewe Gardens and nature cruises are a must.
The accommodation comprises the right half of the house you see in the picture, and is all on one floor. There is a comfortable lounge with colour TV and video recorder. The kitchen / dining room has an electric cooker, refrigerator, washing machine and microwave. From both these rooms you have a clear view of the Torridon mountains and the sweep of Gairloch bay. There is one bedroom with a double and a single bed, and the bathroom has a bath with overhead shower.

The nearest shop, pub and restaurant are in Gairloch village, about half a mile away.

Directions
Approaching Gairloch from the south on the A832, drive through the village until you reach a left turn opposite the Somerfield shop. Turn left here onto the B8021. After a couple of minutes you will come to Strath Square, with shops, post office and car park. Pass through the Square and then over a cattle grid. After about 50metres there is a right turn – take this and Cruachan (26 Strath) is the second house on the right.
